He was predeceased by: his parents, David E. Austin and Peggy Hamilton Austin; and his close friend Otis Vaughn. He is survived by: his wife Tammy Austin; his children, Jessica Patrick (Monroe), Latasha Brooks (Matthew) and Jason Hayes (Loice); his siblings, Terry Austin, Steve Austin (Cheryl), Jeff Austin (Linda) and Vickey Allen (Jack); his siblings-in-law, Shelia Fox (Myers), Laura Gibson and Danny Wilson; and his grandchildren, Marley, Caden Patrick, Cabrum Brooks, Liani and Natalia Hayes. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
