It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Clifton Hubert Proffitt Sr. of Castlewood, Virginia, born in Dante, Virginia, who passed away on September 4, 2021, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Arthur and Lula Belle Blevins Proffitt; and his siblings, Naomi Brooks, Ruth Phillips, Gray Proffitt, Curtis Proffitt and Hershel Proffitt.
He is survived by: his wife Nova Proffitt; his sons, Clifton Hubert "Skipper" Proffitt, Jr. (Tisha) and Kevin Joel Proffitt; his grandchildren, Rachel Proffitt, Tiffany Proffitt and Nathaniel Laney; and his nephew David Phillips.
Due to COVID-19, the family requests those attending the Visitation and Services to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
