He was predeceased by: his parents, Jefferson Fields and Mary Williams Fields; his wife Helen Mildred Fields; his son Jim Fields; and his siblings, Clarice White, Bonnie McReynolds, Lillian Turner, Claude Fields and Junior Salyer.
He is survived by: his fiancée Brenda Gail Bush; his siblings, Della Blevins of Gordon, Charlotte Boris of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Orville Fields of Castlewood and Charlie Fields of Bristol, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Christy Shortridge (Chuckie) of Castlewood, LeAnne DeLeon (Adam) of Warner Robins, Georgia and Aaron Kennedy (Erica) of Castlewood; his great grandchildren, Natasha Packard (Andrew), Samantha DeLeon and Jessica Shortridge; and his great great grandchildren, Lennox and Daxton Packard. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
