She was predeceased by : her parents, James C. Lanier, Sr. and Erner Fitzgerald Lanier. She is survived by : her husband Phillip "Elmo" Smith; her children, Courtney M. Davis (Anthony) of Fayetteville, NC, Caprichia Smith-Moses of Richmond, VA, Matilda Adams (Tory) of Fort Leonardwood, MO, Thaddeus E. Smith of Cascade, VA and Nicqulos V. Smith of Fort Washington, MD; and her siblings, Barbara A. Simington (Eddie) of Williston, TN, Hester G. Brown (Stephen) of Sandston, VA, Sharon L. Adams (Keith) of Blairs, VA, James C. Lanier, Jr. of Eden, NC, Owen L. Lanier of Chatham, VA and Rex T. Lanier of High Point, NC. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak family visitation will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2020 from 5:30 – 7:30 PM from Fisher and Watkins Funeral Home with a limit of 10 people at a time and masks are required.
