With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sabra Cox Whitener of Cascade, Virginia, born in Marks, Mississippi, who passed away on July 25, 2021 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Evelyn Ogle Cox and George Augustus Cox; and her sister LouRita Cox Bernard (Jim). She is survived by : her sister Lyn Cox Scruggs (Paul) of Coldwater, MS; her sister-in-law Sallie Belle Benedetti; her children, Robert L. Whitener, III (Ravelle) of Southern Pines, NC, G. Edward Whitener (Donna) of Martinsville, VA, James A. Whitener and Sabra Lou Whitener of Cascade, VA; her grandchildren, Robert L. Whitener IV (Serena), Charles Adam Whitener (Carly), Matthew J. Whitener (Emily), Travis A. Whitener (Taz), Daniel E. Whitener, Virginia A. Whitener and Gavin C. Whitener; her great grandchildren, Chloe, Sophia, Degan, Elizabeth and Cordelia; and her nephews, Mike, John and Walter Bernard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pittsylvania County Pet Center.
