He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Betty F. Sams; his children, Diane Sams, Vicky Young, David Sams (Rhonda), Lisa Midgette (Brian) and Shelba Hilmer; his brother Ellis Sams; his grandsons, Patrick, William, Ellis, Aaron, Joseph, John, Matthew and Mark; and his siblings, Minnie, Robena, Ernest and Emerson.
