He was predeceased by: his son Ricky Thurston (Barry); his grandson Frankie Dale Thurston, Jr.; his siblings, Mary Heeby, June, Thelma, Charlie and Willie; and his parents, Daisy Thurston and Willie Thurston.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Thurston; his children, Linda Dunivan (Martin), Frankie Thurston (Holly), Clarence James Thurston, Jr. (Kristin), Brisco Thurston (Lindsey) and Dallas Thurston (Victoria); and his sisters, Barbara Jean and Jane. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
