He was predeceased by: his wife Bessie Moss Clanton; his children, Mary Eva Lewis and Roger "Bubba" Clanton, Jr.; his siblings, John Clanton "Dick" (Pauline), Robert E. Clanton (Ann), William Emmanuel Clanton (Adilah), Gertrude Parham (Earl), Eva Kemp and Alberta Wynn (Floyd); and his granddaughter Edna P. Shands.
He is survived by: his children, Shirley A. Clanton (Rodney), Frances S. Branch (George), Gracy M. Robertson (Ray), Joseph J. Clanton (Shirley), Glenn M. Clanton and Ronald L. Clanton (Amanda); and his siblings, Walter Clanton of New York and Eunice Y. Parham (late Jessie Lee) of Stony Creek. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, devoted friends.
