He was predeceased by: his parents, George Vernon Jenkins, Sr. and Henrietta Mae Godfrey Jenkins; his former wives, Joyce Redd Jenkins and Cynthia Way Jenkins; his son Vernon Scott Jenkins; his siblings, Etta Mae Young and George V. "Bunny" Jenkins, Jr.; and his brother-in-law Blaine Young.
He is survived by: his wife Audrey Olson Jenkins; his daughter Tammy Jenkins of Wytheville, VA; his grandchildren, Joyce Elizabeth Jenkins and Scott Tyler Jenkins; his great grandchild Locke; his stepsons, Troy and Brandon Olson; and also, Siri, Isabella, Noah, Holden Olson and Addie Olson.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church and John requested that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in honor of Audrey.
