He was predeceased by: his siblings, William F. Patten Jr., Marjorie LeClair Powers and Ridie LeClair Arthur. He is survived by: his wife Dr. Kaye Dyar; the mothers of children, Anne Ellen Patten and Mary Bonner; his children, Michal Patten (Waldo Kidd) of Ivins, Dr. Elizabeth Patten (Paul Bryant) of Santa Barbara, California and Dr. James Patten (Jen Lusker); his grandson River Patten of Brooklyn; his sister Diana Dawson (Randolph Coyner) of Sarasota; and his niece Kathleen Patten of Manassas.
