With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Roy Otis Cook of Capron, Virginia, born in Westfield, Massachusetts, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 4, 2024 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Roy Otis may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Roscoe Dean Cook, Sr. and Winifred Ayers Cook; and his siblings, Linda Piper, Roscoe Dean Cook, Jr. and Bill Cook.

He is survived by : his wife Anita Gurganus Cook; and his daughter Alexa Cook Barksdale (John). He is also survived by cousins, and nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held on Monday, June 10th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Wright Funeral Home Chapel (206 W 4th Ave, Franklin, VA 23851).
