We are sad to announce that on October 4, 2021, at the age of 75, James D Pope Jr. of Capron, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James D. Pope and Dorothy Jones Pope of Capron; his former wife Kay N. Pope; his brother Charles Ashby "Buddy" Pope; and his brother-in-law Bill Nurney.

He is survived by: his wife Jane Pope; his sons, James D. "Jim" Pope III (Robin) and Joseph W. "Joe" Pope (Suzanne); his grandchildren, Kendal Pope, Megan Duck, Austin Pope, Betsy Pope and Ashby Pope; his siblings, Greg Pope (Kitty Lou) and Katie Edwards (Tye); and his sister-in-law Linda Vick.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Franklin Baptist Church AA Group, 208 N. High Street, Franklin, VA 23851 or the Capron Fire Department, P. O. Box 128, Capron, VA 23829.
