He was predeceased by: his parent Mary Pope Banty. He is survived by: his wife Betty; his children, Peggy Carlson (Eric), David and Glenn (Kim); his sister Francis Lee Puglisi; his grandchildren, Rachel Toth (John), Andrew Carlson (Maddie) and Taylor Banty; and his parent Richard Banty. He is also survived by his numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Clarksbury Baptist Church (P.O. Box 172, Boykins, VA 23827) in memory of his parents, Richard and Mary Banty, or to the Capron Volunteer Fire and Rescue (18090 Railroad Ave, Capron, VA 23829).
