It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vestal Gray Hawks of Cana, Virginia, who passed away on May 17, 2022, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Barney Garland Hawks; his sister Faye Tate; and the mother of his children Joyce Hawks. He is survived by: his children, Hope Hemrick, Jamie (Tabitha Hawks), Cliff (Janet Hawks) and Sparky (Amanda Hawks); his grandchildren, Jimmy Simone, Samantha Simone, Jenna, Shane, Cheyenne, Abigail, Gabrielle, Israel Hawks and Isaac Burton; his great grandchildren, Aubrey, Kayden and Dawson; and his siblings, Juanita Hawks, Louella (Melvin McMillian), Linda (Rector Cagle) and Haywood Hawks.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Grover King Post 1115, 701 W. Stuart Drive, Hillsville, VA 24343.
