He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnny Jefferson Ayers and Marie Haynes Worrell; and his stepfather Paul Worrell. He is survived by: his wife Lura K. Ayers; his son Tony Ayers (Donna); his grandchildren, Amanda Tanton and Chris Reeves; and his great grandchildren, Brandi Utt and Bradley Tanton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
