He is survived by: his son Joe; his wife Sadye Packett Thrift; his son Joseph Delano Thrift; his sisters, Joyce Thrift Hudson, Nancy Thrift Parr (Jimmy) and Patricia Thrift Robinson (Clent); his siblings-in-law, Olive Jean Thrift and Jimmy Robinson; his cousin Doris Westman "Spud"; his close friend Wayne Larry King; and his pets, Frog and Kobe. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
