He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy William Patrick Johnson and Lucy Marjorie Brown Johnson. He is survived by: his children, Sara Johnson (Zach), Matt Johnson (Emily) and Sam Johnson; his grandchildren, Layla, Liam and Silas; his significant other Karen Pittman; and his siblings, David Johnson, Denise Mingo and Vivian Brown. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

“I am so sorry to hear of this. I had no idea and I am very sad to hear this news! I've known Ian since I was a young teen, I thought he was so hip and cool for a dad! He always smelled of good tobacco, and he always had a friendly smile. He was always supportive of his sons, and he himself held many different talents. He was a highly intelligent man, he had a great corny sense of humor, he was extremely kind, and above all he greatly loved life and that of his family.”
