He was predeceased by: his mother Eva Elizabeth Dunnivan; his brother Ellis "Nutty" Butler; and his half-brother Otho "Bubba" Butler. He is survived by: his father Otho Phillip Eugene Butler; his stepmother Ann Butler; his son James Frederline (Lisha); his sister Debbie Poreau; his half-sisters, Billie Jo Butler and Donna Butler; his grandchildren, Chloe, Trinity, Kyleigh, Brailee and James Jr.; and his great grandchildren, Aryssa Brown and Oliver Evergreen. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, October 29th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Butler Family Cemetery (827 Buckner Rd, Bumpass, VA 23024).
