He was predeceased by: his parents, Donna Yates and James A. Yates Sr. of Colorado. He is survived by: his wife Barbara L. Yates; his brother Rex Yates of Colorado; and his sons, James A. Joyner Jr. and Chritopher S. Joyner (Dawn M. Joyner).
