He was predeceased by: his parents, Relmer Champion and Virginia Champion; and his brothers, Elmer Champion, Relmer Champion "Buddy", Bruce Champion "Skip", Mickey Champion, Robert Lynn McGee and Robin McGee.
He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Champion; his children, Rickey Jr., Kenneth, Angel, Vanita, Mackie and Ann; his sister Edith Dunn; his grandchildren, Gavin, Garrett, Shawn and Haley Champion; and his stepdaughters, Tonya Pearce and Nicole Oliveri. He is also survived by numerous other grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
