He was predeceased by: his parents, John Robert Meek Sr. and Anna Davis Meek; his daughter Brenda Gayle Meek; and his siblings, Anna Meek, Dorothy Eppes, Evelyn Jennings and Bill Meek.
He is survived by: his wife Beulah Forbes Meek; his children, Chuck Meek (Julia) and Susan Moore (William); his grandchildren, John Moore, Morgan Meek (Nicole), Rachel Meek Herndon (Dustin) and Joshua Meek; his siblings, Jean Reed (Frank), Jerry Meek and Jim Meek (Patricia); and his sister-in-law Audrey Mann. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
