He is survived by: his sons, Christopher Chafin (Nikki Duty) of Grundy, VA and Richard David Chafin Jr. of Grundy, VA; and his siblings, Henry Chafin, Bobbie Chafin, Lewis Chafin, Phil Chafin, Luther Chafin, Doris Dillon and Diane Chafin. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
