He was predeceased by: his parents, Burl S. Rife and Gertie Rife (Compton); his brothers, Cornelius Rife, Storia Rife and J. B. Rife; his siblings-in-law, Gusta Rife, Ruby Rife, Kay Rife and Lyle Mutter; and his niece Katherine Adams.
He is survived by: his sister Evalena Mutter; his nephew Mark Mutter (Angie); his children, L. C., Wayne and Mary Ruth; his nieces, Jo Ellen Rife and Melissa Emery (John); his children, Jenny Kay, Molly Kate, Angie Boyer and Grayson; and his grandchildren, Sophie, J. B. and Tucker.
The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to Vansant Baptist Church Parking Fund, P.O. Box 649, Vansant, VA 24656.
