He is survived by: his children, Connie Lynn Prater (Kenneth Norman) of Belchers Fork, VA, Teddy Ray Newsome (Pamela Marshall) of Belchers Fork, VA and Larry Lee "Pooch" Newsome (Mary Ann Davis) of Big Rock, VA; his brother Hillard Newsome of Louisville, KY.; and his niece Karen Damron.
