It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Mitchell Shanahan (Buchanan, Virginia), born in Bluefield, West Virginia, who passed away on May 25, 2018, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parent John Shanahan; his former wife Marian Shanahan; his stepfather John Groseclose Sr.; and his brothers, Jimmy Shanahan and Jimmy Groseclose.
He is survived by: his parent Daisy Groseclose; his wife Lois Shanahan of Grundy, VA; his stepchildren, Kyra Lester (Jeff) of Deel, VA and Jamie Deel of Johnson City, TN; his grandchildren, Dylan Lester of Deel, VA, Dalton Lester of Deel, VA and Lindsay Lester of Deel, VA; his brother John Groseclose Jr.; and his wife Janice of Grundy, VA.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be made in the form of flowers or in the form of donations to the Horizon Foundation, 1503 Slate Creek Rd., Grundy, VA 24614.
