He is survived by: his wife Lois Ann Sargent (Charles) of Jacks Creek; his children, Michael Charles (Melissa) of Richlands, VA, Donna McClanahan (Eugene) of Grundy, VA, Amanda Ashby (Brandon) of Big Rock, VA, Dewey Charles of Big Rock, VA and Derick Charles; and his stepchildren, Jimmy Belcher (Becky) of Phelps, KY, Jennifer Belcher (Jason) of Big Creek, KY, Tracy Fletcher (Shane) of Grundy, VA, Lonnie Belcher (Carrie) of Prestonsburg, KY, Amanda Hagy (John) of Grundy, VA, Ricky Charles (Connie) of Abingdon, VA and Johnny Lester (Abby) of Lebanon, VA.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
