He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Shortridge and Bertha Shortridge (Street); and his half-brothers, Clyde Shortridge, Clarence Shortridge and C. W. Shortridge.
He is survived by: his wife Connie Lee Shortridge (Clevinger) of Grundy, VA; his children, Donita Allen (Brian) of Grundy, VA and Christina Shortridge (Chad Charles) of Grundy, VA; his grandchildren, Justin Allen (Kristen), Mekisha Farmer (Richard), Haley Lester (Trey Deel) and Jadyn Lester; his great grandchildren, Carmen Farmer, Tyson Allen, Carson Farmer, Wanda Deel, Vivian Gross, Wilma Vandyke, Pauline Wilson and Ferrel Shortridge; and his half-siblings, Guy Shortridge and Lillian Stiltner. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
