With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rayburn Gene Smith (Brookneal, Virginia), born in Newport News, Virginia, who passed away on December 22, 2022 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Willard A. Smith (Pete); and his cousin Edwin C. Smith (Bud) of Timonium, MD.. He is survived by: his wife Anne Gray Houchens Smith; his daughters, Susan K. Smith of Richmond and Victoria G. Hall (David); his granddaughters, Charlotte of Chesapeake, VA, Lydia of Chesapeake, VA and Gwendolyn Hall of Chesapeake, VA; and his brother Glenn Smith (Frances) of Amherst, VA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
