He is survived by: his spouse Dana Campbell Barksdale; his children, Malcolm Edward "Mac" Barksdale (Beth) of Brookneal, Stephen Eric Barksdale (Mary Jo Niday) of Brookneal, Teresa Newcomb of Richmond, Vicki Barksdale (Stephanie) of Gladys and Kristi Barksdale Anthony (Kevin) of Brookneal; his grandchildren, Ashley Poole (Robbie), Colby Barksdale (Alyssa), Heather Hamlett (Anthony), Jami Mann (Shane), Hunter Anthony, Chase Anthony, Gracie Barksdale, Jarrett Walker and Eric Newcomb; his sister Patricia Irby; and his sister-in-law Betty Jo Dawson. He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.
