It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carolyn Dianne Elam of Brookneal, Virginia, who passed away on April 2, 2025, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Bertha Gaines and James Moss; and her sister Rita Gaines. She is survived by: her husband Linwood Elam; her children, Latisha Elam, Erik (Bethany), Marco (Aisha) and Mario; her siblings, Brenda Pannell of Brookneal, Rachel Gaines of Brookneal, Connie Gaines of Brookneal, Robinette Asher (Toby) of Brookneal, Linda Elam of New Jersey, Ruth Elam of Cumberland, Roland Gaines and Ronnie Gaines (Gloria) of Brookneal; her grandchildren, MaKiyra, Travion, Ja'Liyah, Parris, Perry, Samara, Aunisty, Emariyon, Diamond, Jamario, Isaiah, Shaquita, Natasha and Jamonte; her godson Rashaan Elam; and her friends, Anette Bates and Marquita Baker. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Jeffress Funeral Home and Cremation Service (304 Lusardi Dr, Brookneal, VA 24528). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
