He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Reed Spence of Brodnax; his children, Sam Spence (Bernice) of Brodnax, Deborah Privette (David) of Brodnax, Ray T. Spence (Mary) of Brodnax, Dennis Spence (Penny) of South Hill and Ben Spence (Luci) of Brodnax; his grandchildren, Jeremy Spence, Josh Spence, Jaimee Newcomb, David Privette, Jr., Adam Privette, Jay Spence, Holli Pollard, Emily Spence, Justin Spence, Brandon Spence, Kelci Spence and Rymon Spence; and his sister Barbara Gayle McElroy of Brodnax. He is also survived by many loving great-grandchildren.
