She was loved and cherished by many people including: her grandmother Auntie; her children, James, Edward, Julia, Richard, Larry and Alphonso; her grandchildren, Tawanna and Dannie Jr.; her great grandchild LeMajae; her siblings, Mabel, Robert, Margaret and Charlie; her son-in-law Alvin; her children, Herman Simmons, Deacon Dannie Simmons (Deloris), Daisy Hayspell, Bernard Simmons, Rosa Stith, Linda Hite (Charles), Reverly King, Thomas Simmons (Melinda), Eddie Simmons (Shelia) and Tracy Simmons (Marcus); her daughter-in-law Freedonia Gilchrist; her sister Delores Noel Marshall (Sylvester); her stepsister Magdeline Simmons; her siblings-in-law, Roosevelt Simmons, Anna L. Brown and Shirley Brown; her nieces, Alfreda Brown, Barbara Jean Gregory, Therese Rogers and Janice Marks; and also, Dinah Martin, Marie Johnson and Laurine Hardy. She was also cherished by grandchildren, 78 marvelous great-grandchildren, 34 beautiful great-great grandchildren.
