He was predeceased by: his parents, Moses Townes and Helen Hicks Rivers; and his sister Melba Ann Hicks. He is survived by: his wife Josephine Hicks; his daughter Vivian Hicks Rhodes (George); his siblings, Thomas Hicks (Delores), James Benjamin Rivers and Barbara Ann Rivers; his grandchildren, Clintonia and Kristen Rhodes; and his sisters-in-law, Mabel Vaughan, Pearl Reid and Edmonia Jones. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
