He was predeceased by: his parents, Mark Cephus and Amanda Hege Showalter; his former wife Dorothy Suter; his wife Lottie Masser; and his siblings, Mahlon Showalter, Henry Showalter and Anna V. Showalter.
He is survived by: his children, Dale Arlin Showalter of Broadway and Marilyn Showalter Golladay of New Market; his granddaughters, Heather Golladay Cheshire (Andrew) of Broadway, Margaret Showalter Foster (Brad) of Charlottesville and Elizabeth Anna Showalter (Michael Finch) of Broadway; his great grandchildren, Hu Gordon Cheshire, Cyrus Eugene Cheshire, Nathaneal James Foster, Abbey Rose Foster and Luke Stephen Foster; and his siblings, Mark Showalter, Jr. of Broadway, Fannie Heatwole of Rockingham and Rhoda Wenger of Linville.
Per CDC guidelines, masks and social distancing will be required at the funeral home and graveside service.
