He was predeceased by: his mother Mary Ann McClure Baer. He is survived by: his father Maurice F. Baer of Harrisonburg; his siblings, Judy Baer of Harrisonburg and Larry Baer (Lisa) of Broadway; and his niece Roxanne Baer of Virginia Beach.
