He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henry Mongold and Nina Wilda Mongold (Feaster); his wife Dovevi LaVonne Mongold (Ball); his children, William Earl DeArmond, Ronald DeArmond, Earl W. Mongold, Jr. and Linda Fay Johnson; and his siblings, William "Bill" Mongold, John H. Mongold, Jr., Homer M. Mongold, Emojean Buckley, Mildred Riggleman, Ruby Getz and Mary Ann Hillman.
He is survived by: his children, David E. Mongold of Broadway, VA, Daryl Bryant (Ready) of Rough, Bobby Mongold (Crystal) of Broadway, VA, Georgia Mae Fulk (Joseph) of Fulks Run, VA., Barbara Ann Diaz of Broadway, VA and Debra L. Plogger (Melvin) of Timberville, VA. He is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
