It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Doris Marie Ashby of Broadway, Virginia, born in Washington, District of Columbia, who passed away on January 11, 2021, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Marshall and Florence Gertrude Howard Marshall; and her husband Norman B. Ashby, Sr.. She is survived by: her sons, Norman B. Ashby, Jr. of Broadway and Darryl M. Ashby (Ellen) of Weyers Cave; her sister Barbara Arnold of Baltimore, Maryland; her grandchildren, Alison Henderson (Kevin), Colin Ashby and Emily Ashby; and her great grandchildren, Julia Ashby, Catherine Henderson, Aubrey Obst and Madelyn Henderson.
Per CDC guidelines, social distancing and masks will be required.
The family requests flowers be omitted and memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
