It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Delmar Roy Shoemaker Sr. of Broadway, Virginia, who passed away on April 12, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Biller and Mamie May Shoemaker; his grandson Michael Shoemaker; and his brother Ward Shoemaker. He is survived by: his sons, Delmar Shoemaker, Jr. (Melanie) of Mathias, WV and Matt Shoemaker (Tiffany) of Whitesville, NC; his grandchildren, Brianna Clark, Steven Shoemaker, Rachael Blaser and Megan Winters; his great grandchildren, Adalynn Blaser and Alaina Winters; and his sister Shirley Whetzel of Strasburg. He is also survived by 42 foster children, numerous nieces and nephews.
