He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Walter Ashby and Edna Middlebrook Ashby; his son Alan; and his siblings, Louise, Edna and Ernest.
He is survived by: his wife Judith Ann Ashby; and his children, Kathy Baker of Winchester, VA, Kelly Urf (Kenneth) of Hartwood, VA, Andrea Burke of Warrenton, VA, Calvin Ashby of Woodbridge, VA, William Ashby (Suzi) of Fredericksburg, VA and Ernest Ashby. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
