He is survived by: his daughter Rita Arlene Sheffey of Sandy Springs, Georgia; his close friends, Norma and Melissa Garrett of Piney Flats, Tennessee; his aunt Elizabeth "Lib" Carty of Hampton, Virginia; his niece Sarah P. Van Steenis of Arden; and also, Thomas C. Rounds and Jane Latture Sheffey of Bristol, Virginia.
