She is survived by: her children, Nina Castle White (John) of Abingdon, Rhonda Castle Anderson (Brian) of Abingdon, Virginia and Ronald Shane Castle (Michelle) of Castlewood, Virginia; her grandchildren, Nikki White, Amanda Sells, Emily Castle, Ben Anderson, Sophia Couch and Haley Anderson Hilliard; her great grandchildren, Jackson Combs, Ava Combs, Camilla Sells and Nathan Sells; and her siblings, Carol Sue Ramsey (Doug) of Dante, Gay Dabbs (Don) of Rockford, Illinois, Roger Phillips (Mary Ann) of Rockford, Illinois and Ed Phillips (Jean) of Rockford, Illinois. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Following the COVID-19 restrictions set forth by the Governor of Virginia on face-covering requirements and social distancing, a Private Funeral Service, only for the immediate family, for Shirley Phillips Castle will be conducted in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel in Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Darnell Keith officiating.
