He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Grant Widener and Iris Marie Widener; his former wife Rebecca Jean Widener; his grandson Joshua Widener; his stepgrandson Zachary Barton; and his siblings, Dean Widener and June Cook.
He is survived by: his wife Amie Lou Widener; his son Jeff Widener (Pam) of Kingsport, TN; his granddaughter Nicole Widener; his stepchildren, Kathy O'Connor of Bristol, TN, Ray Viers (Sharlene) of Abingdon, VA, Diane Barton (Denton) of Vansant, VA, Sherry Sutherland (Denver) of Rosedale, VA and Janet McGlothlin of Lebanon, VA; and his brothers, Jerry Widener (Eula) of Damascus, VA and P. G. Widener of Damascus, VA. He is also survived by 10 step-grandchildren, 15 step-great grandchildren, and one step-great great grandchild.
