He was predeceased by: his parents, Jimmie Stanley and Lorraine Sutherland Stanley; his brother Gregory Stanley; and his nephew Robert Larry Stanley, III. He is survived by: his siblings, Larry Stanley (Lisa) of Bealeton and Christina Vella of Johnson City, Tenn.; his children, Jason VanLuven, Shannon Simpson, Angie Michniewicz, Daniel Stanley and Carly Alexander; and his pet Cracker. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; and one cat.
