He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Altizer and Maudie Altizer; his wife Delores Kay Altizer; his children, Christy Altizer and Robert Timothy Altizer; his son-in-law Ricky Allen Slagle; and his brothers, Henry Altizer, Jr., Rush Altizer and Leon Altizer.
He is survived by: his children, Sandy Johnson (Patrick), Suzy King (Kenneth), Cathy Slagle and Markus Altizer; his siblings, Eugene Altizer and Maxine Woodard; and his close friend Melissa Viers. He is also survived by six grandchildren; four step grandchildren; one great grandson; seven step great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Shakesville Church of Christ in Bristol, VA in memory of Herbie.
