She was predeceased by: her husband Elmo M. Thompson (Tommy); her parents, Lillian Short and James Earl McCorkle; her brother Jack Houston McCorkle; her stepdaughter Mary Thompson Pasley; and her friend Patricia Long Huffman.
She is survived by: her children, June Bench Lawlor (Tim), James Bench, Jennifer Bench Spencer (Frank) and Joan Thompson Coffey (Greg); her grandchildren, Joshua Spencer (Lori), Daniel Spencer, Kerra Bench, Staci Bench (Michael Greer), Blake Coffey (Leslie), Brooke Coffey Bolen (Andrew), Debi Pasley and Donnie Robertson; her great grandchildren, Madison Sanchez, Levi Coffey, Asher, Baylor and Everly Spencer; her nephews, Jack H. McCorkle (Vickie) and Kevin McCorkle; her niece Sandra McCorkle; and her stepdaughter Martha Thompson Robertson.
