He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Cowan (Watson); his wife Shirley Ann Cowan; his daughters, Kathy Cowan Osborne and Beth Cowan; and his siblings, Glenn Cowan and Carolyn Cowan Keith.
He is survived by: his daughter Christy Napier (Terry); his granddaughters, Rebekah Napier (J. Napier-Ribley) and Aleshia Murray (Matt); his sister Becky Hammer; and his nieces, Tracy Trigg (Sam) and Hannah Cox. He is also survived by several other nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Due to the COVID pandemic, a Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Euclid Avenue Baptist Church (900 Euclid Avenue Bristol, VA 24201).
