He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Jane Cooper; his grandson Kristopher Cooper; and his siblings, Bernice Harrison, Gene Cooper and Ralph Cooper.
He is survived by: his children, Penny Rush of Bristol, VA and Gary Cooper of Bristol, VA; his grandchildren, Amanda Stewart (Preston, Megan Balthis), Mahesh Krishnan, Nicole Harmon and Nick Ingle; his great grandchildren, Ashlyn Stewart, Riley Stewart, Kingston Stewart and Nova Ingle; his sister Betty Lane of Bristol, VA; his sister-in-law Mary Cooper; and his cousin Nancy Cross. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
