She was predeceased by: her parents, James Richards and Viola Millhorne Richards; her husband Calvin James; her daughter Dr. Leisa Brooks; and her siblings, Vernon Richards, Beulah Richards and Evelyn Richards.
She is survived by: her sister Shirley Jenkins of Bristol, TN; her grandchildren, Evan James, Alena James, Alexis Lillie and Jocelyn James; and her great grandchild Junia. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
