She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert William Tignor and Eliza Jane Wise Tignor; her husband Roy Cleveland Townsend; her daughter Teresa Michelle Childress; and her siblings, Dorothy Kestner, Acie Tignor and Delmar Tignor.
She is survived by: her son Dawson Townsend (Peggy) of Bristol; her son-in-law Ken Childress; her brother Earl Tignor (Temple); her half-sister Jane Musick; her sister-in-law Frances Tignor; her grandchildren, Melissa Horton (DeWayne), Anthony Townsend (Candace) and Logan Childress (Melissa); her great grandchildren, Austin, Kendra Townsend, Caitlyn and Ryan Horton; and her close friends, Bonnie Harper and Shirley Neeley. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
