We are sad to announce that on October 12, 2023, at the age of 90, Joseph Gray Spangler Riner in Bristol, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Christopher Thomas Riner and Anna Rebecca Canterberry Riner; and his son-in-law Paul Buchanan. He is survived by: his wife Effie Josephine Broyles Riner; his children, Steven Riner (Elizabeth), Cathy Johnson (Bill), Rebecca Bradshaw (Patrick), Susie Dillard (Gene) and Tammy Buchanan; his grandchildren, Jeremy Goodin (Misty) and Jennifer Minton (Josh); and his great grandchild Carson Goodin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
